Photograph of Home

Somewhere beyond the sands of time,
Safe from the blistering years,
I hold in my heart a memory,
Kept fresh and clean by tears.

I remember all it meant to me,
All the stories, adventures, friends,
A part of me is always home,
With my heart, to the bitter end.

I fear that you might forget me,
If my days there should fade away,
Look deep in the picture; you'll see me,
With the dawn and the dusk in sway.

Hold tighter to your memories,
That whatever should befall,
I always be somewhere; close to you,
In our dreams, forever, my all.
