Alone on the Island
By Mark H.

I stand here,
gazing out ,
at a blood red sunset.

In my paws,
rests a memory,
of you.

A simple scarf,
A broken trust,
and a silent tear.

I wanted
to give you
the world.

Stand by your side,
through thick,
and thin.

A world of plunder,
And for once,
meaning nothing.

Why you?
I'll never know,
but it was you.

Now I stand
betrayed, abandoned
wishing on some fallen star

That you'll come back
Come home, return.
Take the scarf.

Together once more,
forever by my side,
Come back to the island.
