The K&Ker's Ode to Spring

Spring is renewal of the pleasant and serene,
More than summers, winters, or falls;
Flowers grow, and trees turn green
Just as the mold on the Iron Vulture's walls.

Spring is a time we always remember
To get out and smell the fresh air!
'Cept on Pirate Island, however...
Oy, the sulfur stinks over there.

[And speaking of renewal, watch out for a totally renovated look for K&K Forever in the coming weeks!]

Q: Did you guys ever resolve the age-old dispute of whose name the first 'K' is in 'K&K'?

Kit: Yeah, we compromised. My name's first on Saturdays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays, and it's the Captain's on Sundays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.

Q: But what about Mondays?

Kit: Well, nobody likes Mondays.

Got something you've always wanted to ask Kit or the Captain? Send it to the Brahma Bear, and see what they say!

Cappuccino This is just one of several new, soon-to-be-posted pics from Krickitt. :-)

The Parental Pirate

Being Don Karnage isn’t all that easy, what with trying to be a feared pirate and properly raising a protege at the same time. Here, we examine just some of the complex issues he must deal with day in and day out, choosing between the Don Karnage the parent, and Don Karnage the pirate.

When Kit is bad:
Parent: Makes him sit in the corner.
Pirate: Gives him a steak dinner.

When Kit is good:
Parent: Sticks gold stars on a chart hanging in Kit’s room.
Pirate: Makes him scrub floors until he learns better... er, worse.

When Kit is feeling down:
Parent: Takes him out for ice cream.
Pirate: Takes him out to knock over a bank. And then maybe for ice cream.

When Kit wants to fly:
Parent: Sternly but gently reminds the boy that he’s too young, but will get his chance soon.
Pirate: By the time Karnage stops laughing, Kit has gotten irritated enough to leave the room.

When Kit swears:
Parent: Administers the ol’ soap in the mouth.
Pirate: Puts him on the PA system and tells him to speak up.

When Kit needs motivation:
Parent: Uses encouraging phrases like, “You can do it!”
Pirate: Lets his cutlass do the talking: “You better do it!”

When Kit has questions about the birds and the bees:
Parent: Sits down and has a careful, thoughtful, heart-to-heart discussion to answer any questions.
Pirate: “Boy, there will soon be a time when you will start having feelings for girls. When you find you want to do something about it... don’t!”
